Today, the Guardian online reported that an estimated 655,000 Iraqis have been killed since the invasion started.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that more than was allegedly killed and tortured by the evil Saddam? Have things really gotten any better for the Iraqi people since the US started this democratization of Iraq? It seems senseless if you ask me.
So, the Iraqi people have suffered great loss and so have the Americans. What's too be gained by keeping it up longer? All I can see is more death and more destruction.
Is it no wonder that George is shifting his attentions to North Korea? Give the people something else to fear so that they forget how badly he's screwed up until now. I mean really, if the US was worried about nuclear weapons, they would have started dismantling their own to set an example.
If you ask me GWB is just as crazy as people say that Kim Jong-il is.

Nobody asked you, did they. So stay on your side of the border when the Muslims start blowing up your cities. oh yea, you'll probably covert to save our skin.
Patric
Anyone elso out there agree with Patric? I encourage you to say your piece and to check out his blog as well. After all, blogs are there for people to express their views.
I would have hoped that Christians would be less judgmental of other faiths though. Patric knows little about me or whether I even have a faith. Personally, I don't care what a person's faith is. After all, there are assholes in every culture and religion...just as there are good people. I don't think one's faith determines whether someone is evil or not.
I am lucky to be at peace with myself. If it is my time, be it being hit by a bus, have a heart attack, or as he mentions blown up or shot by someone (like we have been seeing so often now that kids have guns), then I am at peace with that. I wish that he had peace so that he didn't feel so frightened by death.
I welcome your words. That is what this blog is all about.
i do agree that united stats and any other countries which own nuclear weapons should start dismantling their own weapons to show countries like north korea an example.
it is sad to see people's thoughts being determined by fear and the false images created by fear and misunderstandings. and it is quite unintelligent of that person called Patrick to assume the Muslims would be always the one who blow up one's cities.
i don't believe Muslim is a word clearly identifying people who blow up buildings. some of they may commit a serious crime in blowing up cities, building or whatever. yet it is very fallacious of one to use the word Muslim for some one who demolishs buildings and cities. i suppose people who involve themselves in this kind of act are called terroriests or even psychotic idealsts.
i wish people would do some research on the subjects from several different aspects before they started discussiing.
Thanks t.s. I have to say that I dropped by Patric's site yesterday, had a read-around and left a comment thanking him for dropping by mine. Unfortunately, he's one of those who moderates the comments that come in.
That moderation option confuses me as it is often used to weed out opinions that are not the same as that of the author. I cannot say that Patric is doing this however, I haven't seen my welcoming message added to his comments site yet.
Nevertheless, I do agree with you t.s. in that being Muslim does not mean that you also blow up things and kill people. It is not an exclusive "club" in which people set out to destroy the world. I know many who have faiths other that Christian. Of all the Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs, Baha'i, Jewish folk and others I have been lucky enough to meet, none have ever led me to believe that they want to destroy buildings or kill people. Christianity is not entirely free of it's moments of bloodshed as some so-called Christians have been guilty of doing bad things to others in the name of their faith. There are some that murder, steal and lie so I think it a little unfair to judge other faiths before one really has a chance to talk with them. As I mentioned before, there are fanatics in every group.
Perhaps I am naive but I do believe there is room for every faith or non-faith person in the world as long as we can get to know each other and give a "face" to those faiths and people from other countries.
Lola,
That was a little harsh. I just found out how to allow the writers to my blog to leave a message. I don't like just allowing anybody to leave messages because of profanity. Free speech to me doesn't mean bad speech.
By their fruits you will know them. That is what seperates true followers of Jesus from the other religions of the world. They all can't be right but one is.
OI pray that the Lord will give you His light on this.
Patric
Patric,
What was harsh? My response to your email or your words when you first entered my blog space? I believe that it was you who was the initial accusor.
And Patric, I believe there is no faith greater than the power of nature. Those faiths created by man are not our salvation. They give some people peace and provide the moral fibre for each of their cultures. However, I believe it stops there. That is my belief and as I respect other's faiths, I would expect that others would do the same.
